PVD: Sputtering

PECVD: Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition
GMP & FDA Compliance

Download Brochure

SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES has delivered far more than 8,000 vacuum coating machines since its foundation in 1995. The spectrum of vacuum deposition methods includes physical vapor deposition (PVD, sputtering) as well as plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD). In addition, non-vacuum deposition methods like CVD or aerosol assisted CVD (AACVD) are used. Applications like plasma cleaning and plasma surface conditioning complete the portfolio.

Application Examples for Medical Devices

  • Antibacterial coatings
  • Dense barrier layers
  • Gradient layers
  • Antireflection coatings, hard coatings and clean coatings
  • Adhesion promoting layers
  • Plasma functionalization
  • Plasma cleaning, plasma sterilization
  • Decorative coatings

A variety of deposition materials, e.g. the wide range of metals, metal alloys and ceramics, is available for the respective application. Flat substrates can be processed but also 3-dimensional parts by either simultaneous deposition from different directions or part rotation during deposition. Our production systems typically feature single substrate/parts tracking, in-line quality control, closed loop process stabilization and are fully automated to reduce logistical efforts and personnel intensity.

3D Coating System POLYCOATER

Inline Coating System of 3D Parts for Decorative Coatings and other Multiple Applications

The POLYCOATER is a sputtering production system for the fully automatic coating of 3D parts. The sputtering module can be interlinked with different innovative handling concepts, which also provide the possibility of incorporation of additional production modules (e.g. lacquering module, robot handling systems). The POLYCOATER system is designed as system for production use for Decorative Coatings and other Multiple Applications.

The system can integrated into an existing production flow. An integrated exchange handling system is loading new parts and is unloading the metallized parts to an interface position.

The POLYCOATER is the result of the combination of proven coating technologies, high-performance expertise and unique experience bundled with a revolutionary concept for the application of 3D coatings onto parts.

The POLYCOATER offers a reproducible layer uniformity and a high deposition rates with highest coating quality and a high uptime through to permanent sputtering process control. The cycle time per carrier is down to 6 s with up to 18 parts on one carrier.
